Season Update - 6/12/2020
Hello EGCYBL baseball community,
We wanted to give an update on the 2020 rec season as we prepare to play. While we are still in unprecedented times, the Board of Directors at EGCYBL is preparing to have baseball for our community as soon as we reach Phase 4 of the New York State reopening process. While it will not be a typical rec season as we will have to implement some safety procedures and guidelines, we are confident we can supply the players of our league a bit of normalcy on the ball fields.
As of today we are targeting the following dates for our 2020 rec season:
Monday, July 6th - Sunday, August 16th.
Please Note: Dates are subject to change based on the NYS reopening process but we wanted to put dates in place so parents, managers, coaches and the board can plan for the upcoming season.
Early next week we will distribute a Safety Procedure And Guidance Packet so that all league participants, parents, managers, and coaches can familiarize themselves with them.
We are hoping to have a game schedule in place by late June but below is what each division's typical week will look like:
| T-BALL Division | Game every Sunday, a couple of week night games during the season (8 games) |
| MINI MINOR Division | Game every Sunday, a couple of week night games during the season (8 games) |
| A Division | 2 games per week including a game every Saturday(12 games) |
| AA Division | 2 games per week including a game every Saturday(12 games) |
| AAA Division | 2 games per week including a game every Saturday(12 games) |
| MAJOR Division | 2-3 games per week including a game every Saturday(12 games) |
As we progress through June we will continue to communicate important information through our social media sites and through our managers so please be on the lookout for further info but we are excited to have a rec season to look forward to!
